Kung Fu Atlas

Kung Fu Atlas Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 6, 2026

This policy applies to the iOS version of Kung Fu Atlas, an offline-first cultural and historical reference about Chinese martial arts.

1. Accounts and collection

No registration or sign-in is required. The app does not request your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, photo library, or microphone. It has no advertising, third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK, cloud reading sync, or cross-app tracking. The developer does not receive your bookmarks, reading history, reading positions, search terms, or place-directory browsing from the app.

2. Local storage and deletion

Bookmarks, recent-reading history, section-level reading positions, and interface preferences are stored on your device. Deleting the app removes this ordinary local app data. A minimum full-access entitlement record is kept in secure storage: store and product identifiers, transaction identifier and date, and a digest of verification material. Secure records may survive reinstallation according to iOS behavior. Restore Purchases can retrieve access through your Apple Account again; deleting the app does not cancel an App Store purchase.

If secure-record deletion temporarily fails after access is revoked, the app retains an irreversible entitlement-identity digest in local preferences to prevent reactivation. That marker is removed once secure-record cleanup succeeds. Copy Citation and Copy Link write only the selected text to the system clipboard; the app does not read existing clipboard contents.

3. Purchases and Apple services

Apple processes the one-time full-access purchase and refunds. The app uses StoreKit to verify transactions and current entitlements on the device; it does not upload purchase verification material to a developer-operated server. The developer does not receive card details, payment credentials, or your Apple Account password. Apple may process purchase, fraud-prevention and diagnostic information under its own policies: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/. Diagnostic sharing depends on your device settings and Apple's policies.

4. Maps and external links

Core text, images and place records are bundled for offline reading. The embedded Apple MapKit map loads its online basemap from Apple. Apple may process the visible map region, map requests, IP address, technical information and map interactions. The app does not request location permission, read or display your location, track movement, or provide in-app routes. It does not send Apple your bookmarks, reading history, reading positions or search terms.

The 31 editorial place records contain 21 approximate points and 10 region-level points, with no exact points. These are cultural research indexes, not verified street addresses. The bundled List remains available offline or if the map cannot load.

Source websites open only when you select their links and may receive ordinary web-request information. For eligible cultural venues, Find in System Map sends the venue's public name and source-backed street address to the device's map service only when you select it. That action does not send your reading data or location. External websites and map services process requests under their own privacy policies.

5. Support, retention and updates

If you email support, we receive the address, message and attachments you choose to send and use them to handle your request. Contact us to request access to or deletion of that correspondence; it is kept only as needed for support and applicable legal obligations. Do not send passwords or payment credentials. Apple manages its own purchase records and related requests.

The app is intended for general cultural reading and is not directed specifically to children. It does not knowingly collect children's personal information. We will update this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures before introducing new data-handling features.
